Cherry blossom display at traditional restaurant where you take shoes off and sit on mats. You are in private rooms and there is a cool little button on the corner of the table that you press to get someone to come take your order. Pretty ingenious

Bullet train from Yokohama to Kyoto looking very sleek and aerodynamic. Fastest we've ever gone on land. Think we are at about 180 miles/hour.

Entrance to one temple

Impressively large. Awesome gutter system that collects water to rain barrels. They had this in the 1400s! And we are just doing them now in the States, ha.

Dragon fountain. These are popular outside the temples. You are supposed to wash hands and rinse mouth before entering temple. Funny 'cause all the signs say water is not fit for drinking. People still wash mouths out though.

Really tall pagoda

Meg with the cherry blossom trees. We had cherry blossom pastry...it was awesome. This park also had a crazy aggressive hawk that was swooping down and trying to take food from people having picnics.

Awesome sushi bar. Plates go around on carousel and you take what you want. That tap coming out of the bar on the right is a hot water tap. You have a cup for green tea and some green tea powder. You put powder in mug and then you can help yourself to hot water from tap.
